The last post-exam plan i'll ever make.

Yeah :) So i'd better make this one really good.

- Kickboxing lessons! [bought vouchers off Groupon for a month's unlimited classes]
- Ubin with Boo [also from vouchers off Deal.com lol]
- L4D! But not too much because that would be wasting the time I could be spending on the other things on this list.
- Go around taking photos, with themes each time :)
- Do up my blogshop and get the business started.
- Flea market on 28 May!
- Find a part time job. Money much needed.
- Club!
- Catch up with all my friends :D

As usual, i'll add more later on.

Ownership.

It's the first time in a very long time that I feel as though i'm doing more work than my other group members. That i'm leading the group. That I know the most within the group. Even though maybe i'm not.

It feels nice.

It feels familiar.

I'm the kind of person who needs to be given ownership/leadership of something in order for me to do it well.

Your take?

Don't work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone.

Give me some time to claw my way out of Hell.

I'm pretty deep down, so it'll take a while.

Sian.

Been sleeping in order to avoid doing work. Now I have a headache.

As if it makes any sense. But yeah.

I'm just very unmotivated now.

The irony.

I'm trying to cut down on my internet usage.

Yes, to pull up my miserable grades. I haven't done a single tutorial since school started [except for those questions that i have to present]. I keep telling myself that i want to study, then i'll end up spending the entire day watching Wizards or doing some other stuff. K, so here's what i propose.

Internet usage each day limited to a maximum of [including on ipod]:
- 2x blog updates & views
- 2x twitter; tweeting unlimited
- 2x Facebook, each session 15 minutes
- 2x MLIA
- 1x Not Always Right
- 3x Youtube videos
- Other leisure, maximum of 30 minutes

Can remain online besides these, but must be for school work or educational purposes e.g. learning how to skateboard.

Yes, this is already cutting down by a lot. So you can see the extent of my internet addiction. It was worse before, especially when i was playing games like AuditionSEA and MapleSEA.

The rest of my free time should be spent on:
- Exercise/stretches: 30 minutes
- Skateboard/dance/other hobby: 1 hour
- Nap: 30 minutes
- Study: 23086796135105 hours

I have a feeling i'm going to find ways to circumvent my own system. They're called excuses.

Focus.

I'm not sure if i should call them resolutions, because everytime i make them i don't ever seem to end up fulfilling them, but here are the things i want to focus on for at least the earlier bit of this year.

1. Schoolwork. I'm not very happy with the results that i got last sem, so i'm gonna be working harder. Will take advantage of the long breaks i have between lessons, and make full use [or partial use] of them.

2. CCA. Actually i'm only referring to Soul Funky; i don't have to do much for the other CCA. There's the February performances coming up really soon, and we haven't really started choreo-ing for them at all. In addition, JDC is in March, but that's still alright because we have a choreographer [PJ?].

3. Running. I said yesterday that i'd go running this morning, but as usual i didn't even wake up on time. I'm just a damn lazy person. Gotta buck up on that. 21-21 on 16/08/09!

I've been reading through my archives on LJ. Lots of interesting stuff, heh.

BINGO.

Remember this entry where i said i was going to attempt a half-marathon for my 21st birthday? The SBR/AHM is traditionally held in August, so i'd expected the run to be any Sunday within the month. Didn't matter much, really.

But welp. Turns out the run is on 16 August 2009. Gives me even more reason to run, huh? :)

Must really train liao.

21.

So i was thinking of doing a half-marathon for my birthday next year.

My reason to run: 21km for my 21st birthday.

Too bad they're not gonna provide the Adidas reason to run thing again [i think]. I'm thinking that since SBR/AHM is usually in August, then... yeah. Just nice ah.

And then maybe i'll try Stanchart at the end of the year. Or maybe the following year. Or maybe not at all. See how i keep up first lor.

Time to get up offa that computer chair and get those running shoes back out.

Some social psych concepts...

Was told to read up on those stuff so here it is, in my own words.

Social facilitation
- The ability to increase performance while doing simple tasks, in the presence of a group of people.
- Something like what happens during those large running events where people usually perform better than when they usually run alone? [I'm not sure; i'm only gathering from my mom, Aunty Jo and my experiences]. I can't really think of a better example; my brain kinda died while i was in the tutorial earlier.

Social impairment
- The inability for a person to function at his/her normal level while doing more complex tasks, in the presence of a group of people.
- Something like stage fright/autism [depending on the degree]?
- Possibly what happened to me during my secondary school class BBQ? Although i'm not sure what's complex about interacting with people -.- Lol never mind stupid example.

What i was thinking was maybe this could be somehow interrelated with esteem. Like when it comes to simple tasks, people know for sure they can do it, so they do their best and end up performing really well [which they would have already expected], so it boosts their esteem. On the other hand, when performing more complex tasks, people are afraid of being judged with what they're doing, because they're not sure if they can do it well. So that might impair their performance.

That's merely what i think la. To apply it in a simple example, i think social facilitation is what happens when i do a choreo [simple because it's just following and reproducing], and social impairment is what happens when i have to freestyle [more complex because i gotta think on my feet].

Did i mention i felt a lot better freestyling with my eyes closed on Wednesday? -.- I may not have performed better, but it definitely felt better. To me at least.

I digress.

Social loafing
- When a person puts in less effort while working in a group; free-riding.
- Diffusion of responsibility? The more people there are around, the less likely for an individual within the group to take action.
- "Everybody thought somebody would do it, but nobody did it."
- I'm wondering if this really applies to everyone or whether there are individuals who will put in their best whether working in a group or alone.

Yup. So these are the 3 concepts i was told to read up on :) I hope i'm not wrong =/
